The presence of shellfish is made visible by means of specific antibodies. Reveal 3-D for Shellfish is a unique screening instrument with a 3-line readout: a control line confirms that the method has been performed successfully, and two other lines distinguish non-detectable, low, and high levels of shellfish presence.

Suitable for detecting the presence of crustaceans and molluscs. This test detects the protein found in, among others, shrimp, lobster, langoustines, crayfish, crab, squid, scallops, oysters, mussels, and cockles. Not suitable for extracts or highly processed products such as oyster sauce, crab extract, or prawn crackers.

This test is suitable for both raw and prepared products. Analysis of acidic or salty products with a low pH value and products containing many thickeners may yield an invalid result.

The procedure
1. Add the extraction buffer to the sample tube.
2. Add 0.25 ml of sample (CIP rinse water or cotton swab) to the sample tube.
3. Apply the cap and shake for one minute.
4. Remove the cap and fill it with liquid from the tube.
5. Immerse the Reveal 3-D instrument in the liquid in the cap.
6. Leave the instrument in it until liquid flows into the test window.
7. Place the device on a flat surface and allow the test to develop for 5 minutes.
