Reveal 3-D for Gluten is NEOGEN’s new lateral-flow gluten test that streamlines qualitative gluten testing and optimizes the user experience. This test offers a new testing method for measuring gluten content in both food products and ingredients. This test standardizes the testing procedure into a simpler, easy-to-follow format, facilitating your training and your process. This test also standardizes the gluten detection limit, enabling greater consistency. The presence of gluten is visualized by means of specific antibodies. Reveal 3-D for Gluten is a unique screening instrument with a 3-line readout: a control line confirms that the method has been performed successfully, and two other lines distinguish non-detectable, low, and high levels of gluten presence.

Products with a high concentration, burnt products, or products with high acid or salt content are less suitable for analysis with this test. Analysis of acidic or salty products with a low pH value and products containing many thickeners may yield an invalid result.

The procedure
1. Add 0.25 ml of sample (CIP rinse water or cotton swab) to the sample tube.
2. Apply the cap and shake for one minute.
3. Add the contents of the Type 5 extraction buffer.
4. Apply the cap again and shake for one minute.
5. Remove the cap and fill it with liquid from the tube.
6. Immerse the Reveal 3-D instrument in the liquid in the cap.
7. Leave the instrument in it until liquid flows into the test window.
8. Place the device on a flat surface and allow the test to develop for 5 minutes.
